One of the most incredible weeks in Milan

Fuori Salone, the most important international Design Week, this year returns again from June 6 to 12. As always, there is a theme, which is "Between Space and Time" that relates to the September 2021 edition, entitled "Forms of Living"

WHAT IS

Fuori Salone was started in the 1980s by furniture and design companies who spontaneously began to gather together to present their latest products. It is therefore not a trade show event, although it has become larger and more organized over time. It is usually held in April in conjunction with the Salone Internazionale del Mobile, but this year it was decided to move it to June, as last year it was moved to September because of the pandemic.

HOW IT WORKS

Since the Salone Internazionale del Mobile is being held at the same time, the main venue is the Fiera Milano Rho, but there are events scattered throughout the city, particularly Corso Garibaldi, Brera, Triennale and Fabbrica del Vapore. There is a ticket costing €15 for the Salone del Mobile, while for other events it may vary. Many events are free, such as those at the Triennale.

EVENTS

We recommend some of the events not to be missed:
Floating Forrest, in Darsena. It is an installation by Stefano Boeri for Timberland and represents a floating multi-sensory forest created as an independent ecosystem on the water of the Darsena, for a greener city.
The House of Things. An immersive and interactive installation that revolves around the concept of home as a place that comes to life and becomes such only in relation to the person who inhabits it.
Porsche's "The Art of Dreams" is at Palazzo Clerici, within the Brera district. Admission is limited.
Momentum, at the Civic Aquarium. By immersing themselves in the work, people participate in a shared experience built with light and sound, revealing the relationship between absolute and perceived time.
